Polyisobutylene Succinic Anhydrides (PIBSA) are available with active contents ranging from 60 to 100%. They can be diluted in paraffinic, naphthenic, or PAO base oils. When neutralized, these products will produce either water or oil soluble additives which can be formulated into emulsifiers or dispersants.

PIBSA 1070(P/N) and PIBSA 1100
PIBSA 1070(P/N) and 1100 are polyisobutylene succinic anhydrides manufactured via thermal process from a 1000 molecular weight polyisobutylene. These PIBSA intermediates are the precursors used in the preparation of ashless dispersants and emulsifiers. Both PIBSA 1070(P/N) and 1100 have no residual chlorine and exhibit good solubility in paraffinic and naphthenic oils. To ease handling, PIBSA 1070 has been diluted to a 70% active concentration with either a paraffinic (1070P) or naphthenic (1070N) base oil.
